If you live, work, or attend college in Purchase, Harrison, or West Harrison, you are eligible for a card.
Library Card Requirements:
For Purchase/Harrison/West Harrison Residents — Photo ID and proof of address.
For Purchase Employees — Photo ID, proof of Purchase employment, and proof of home address.
For Purchase Students — A parent or guardian must fill out a children’s library card application for all students aged 15 and under. For ages 16 to 22, students must have a photo ID and/or college ID, and must provide proof of home address.

To access your library card account, visit www.westchesterlibraries.org and click the “Account/Catalog” tab. Once you arrive on that page, click “Log In” in the top right-hand corner.

As long as you have a valid ID, we can enter your full name into the integrated library system (ILS) to look up your library card number.

Yes, we offer free WiFi inside the library.

The Purchase Free Library is a fine-free library.
We charge fines for the following: damaged items, lost items, lost/damaged library cards, and lost/damaged/late museum passes.

The library does not accept donated books or DVDs, but please note the following organizations that take these items:
